Founded in 2011, UANAN Experts Conseils is a First Nation company in Ekuanitshit (Mingan) that provides professional services in the fields of environment, land use planning, geomatics, forestry and civil works.
The primary objective of UANAN, which means ”landlocked salmon”, is to create real economic, environmental and social benefits in the community through the mandates and training given to Innu workers.

Projects
Uanan Experts Conseils has been involved in many projects in the Minganie area (Basse-Côte-Nord) over the past years. Among others, we participated in the following projects: groundwater monitoring at the Havre-Saint-Pierre terminal and at the Tio Mine for Rio Tinto Fer et Titane; clearing of a snowmobile trail near the Puyjalon River for Hydro-Quebec; monitoring of fish communities and mercury levels in fish flesh in RO-1, RO-2 and RO-3 reservoirs for Hydro-Québec in collaboration with AECOM. This work was carried out with the involvement of local Innu workers.
Forest engineers, biologists, civil engineers and several technicians from the professional services department of Uanan Experts Conseils are present in the team to manage turnkey mandates.
